What to expect

We know a boxing gym can be a daunting place to visit for the first time, but rest assured this could not be further from the truth. Our gym has been around for decades welcoming generations of children, aspiring boxers and everyday adults wanting to learn the sport and get into shape.

We work at all levels of boxing from children, adults keeping fit, a charity, an amateur boxing club and our stable of professional boxers. It is truly a community that we hope you become part of.

Our gym is accessible to children aged 9 years upwards and to adults of all abilities with a wide range of classes to suit you.  We take as much pride in teaching a complete beginner to box as we would one of our professional boxers becoming a champion.

You’re always welcome to come on down during our opening times and there will be a staff member available to show you around.

For anybody looking to join the gym whether an adult or junior you must sign up via our online membership portal and complete all the necessary forms. This saves a lot of time and delay when you attend the gym for the first time as our reception can be very busy.

What to bring

In your first visit to the gym, you need to bring basic training gear consisting of trainers, shorts or tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt or sweatshirt and a bottle of water (on sale at the gym).

Adults (17+) - you will need hand wraps (worn underneath the gloves) to protect your hands whilst punching the bags and a skipping rope, these can be purchased at our online store or at the gym for £5 each.

Juniors (9-16) – when you pay £20 to join the junior membership you will receive a free Bristol Boxing Gym Water Bottle, skipping rope and hand wraps. It’s vital your child has this equipment to ensure they can participate in all aspects of the class.

Need some Equipment?

We do not lend out gloves so you must purchase your own pair of boxing gloves, we have a great range of boxing equipment on sale in our online boxing store or at the gym starting from £20. If you have any queries on boxing equipment our coaches at the gym will be on hand to advise you.

How do I book classes?

To book a class just go to the Timetable page of our website or download the free TeamUp Members App.

Is there free parking at the gym?

Yes, there is free car parking in the gym car park. If that is full then the streets around the gym are all free to park. We also have bike racks directly outside the entrance.
