MONDAY & WEDNESDAYS 18.15 – 19.30 (Age 10 – 16)

The Empire Amateur Boxing Club is one of the most iconic amateur boxing clubs in the country. Formed back in 1968 it played a huge role in the inner-city Bristol community over the past 50 years creating many champions along the way.

Who Can Attend:
Empire ABC Junior sessions are exclusively for young people aged 10–16 who are dedicated to training for competitive amateur boxing. Your child must reach a certain skill level before joining the Amateur Boxing Club. Please bring them to our Junior Boxing Class first, where a coach will assess their ability. If your child has previously competed in boxing, they may attend the amateur club sessions directly. Beginners should start with our Junior Boxing Lessons to develop the essential skills required to progress.

Sparring:
Sparring is allowed only if the boxer has had a medical examination via England Boxing’s administration system The Locker. As with the senior sessions, all sparring is supervised by qualified Level 2 England Boxing coaches. Speak to your coach for more details about the medical and sparring process.

Competition Opportunities:
Once you're ready, the club will support you in entering competitive bouts, progressing to national-level tournaments as your skills develop.

Before Your First Session:
Please read our Guide to Getting Started and ensure you complete registration on the Glofox app (Apple or Android) before attending. This helps reduce delays at reception, which can get very busy.

Sign yourself up as the parent/guardian via the Glofox app (Apple or Android) our website.  Once completed, add the child under family accounts.  Go to Junior memberships and choose either a week of lessons (£5) or a month (£20).  Next book the class you wish the child to attend.  You must also purchase ‘Junior Kit and sign-up Fee’ which is our one-off junior membership payment of £20.  Head to our store in the app or purchase at reception.  This one-off £20 fee includes free hand-wraps, a skipping rope (essential to attend the classes) and a Bristol Boxing water bottle.  This will be ready for collection at reception before their first class.
